Our health and safety culture is built on one goal: making sure everyone who works on our sites goes home safely at the end of every day.
Training and competence
Every member of our workforce and staff is trained to meet our legal obligations and to carry out their daily duties safely. When new legislation or working practices come in, we give our teams the extra training they need to keep up.
- Our senior management team hold NEBOSH or SMSTS qualifications.
- Our supervisors and site management teams attend regular health and safety awareness training.
- All plant operators complete CITB-CPCS accredited plant training.
- Every operative on our sites holds an up-to-date CSCS, CPCS or NPORS card, with extra training where needed.
In-house health and safety management
Our own health and safety team carries out regular audits across all our projects. We've built a strong safety culture, and we keep working to improve how we manage health and safety and how well we perform.
Specialist external support
We also work with The Health and Safety People (THSP), one of the UK's most respected health and safety consultancies. THSP has specialist consultants across the country, covering every aspect of construction, so they can give us support tailored to what we need.
Systems that keep evolving
Our management systems are regularly reviewed to reflect best practice as well as legal requirements. Our health and safety team keeps us up to date with the latest developments and makes sure our people have the tools they need to work safely.
